Fancy
is an extremely happy strawberry blond Standard Poodle. She is in
constant motion, thus, earning her the nickname "fancy antsy pants".
Fancy never just walks. She goes at top speed, always. She bounces, she
leaps, she dances, she prances, she hops, she spins and she runs, always
enjoying life to the fullest.
Fancy has taken several obedience and agility classes. She is very
smart, learning a command in one try - but - she has the attention span
of a flea and there is still that problem of trying to hold still for
longer than a second. You would never know she has hip displaysia but
she was diagnosed at one year old. Now I keep her medicated with the
highest safe dose of doggy glucosamine and let her live life at top
speed if that's what she wants.
Fancy did earn her Canine Good Citizen award from the AKC at fifteen months and
was certified for pet therapy shortly there after. Fancy is following in
her big brother, Toby's, paw prints. Toby is a huge white Standard
Poodle. He has shown Fancy the ropes so she wouldn't be nervous in
elevators and going through revolving and sliding doors. They visit both
hospitals here and all the nursing homes in the area, also working with
kids and reading at times. Toby is now seven and remains laid back and
dignified. Fancy, however, bounces her way into a room, a big smile on
her face and her tail wagging her whole body. No one can resist smiling
at her and loving both of them.
