This
is Tinker. I got Tinker from the pound eleven years ago after my husband
passed away. At that time, Tinker was hairless except for her "mohawk." She
also had a bad case of kennel cough. She quickly recovered from the kennel
cough and started to show her personality. It was several years before her
hair started to fill in, but now she has a full coat of curly dark hair except
for her white "mohawk" and white patches on her chest and one foot. She's
gotten more white on her face as she ages, but that just makes her even cuter.
Tinker loves to "talk" and thinks she understands what I say. She is very
personable and loves to meet other people. She isn't too fond of big dogs,
though, they tend to intimidate her. She loves to play like a cat and hide
under the blankets. She has a "baby" which is her toy and she brings it to
everyone who comes to visit me. One of her favorite things to do is lay
sprawled out on my bed and watch everything that is going on.
Tinker has been a blessing to me as I've gotten older. She has moved with me
several times from living alone to living with my daughter and her family.
Tinker has made the transition for me moving to Assisted Living much smoother,
she even made the plane ride with me cross country. The Assisted Living
community where I live has welcomed her with open arms. She meets and greets
everyone with a wagging tail. Several of the nurses and aides where I live
play with her every chance they get.
