This
is Tasha, my Beagle, adopted four years ago from the NC Beagle
Rescue. Tasha was about two then, had had two litters of puppies, been
in three foster homes and was extremely fearful. When I saw her little
face on the site and nursing her puppies, I knew the "little mama" was for me.
This picture was taken the week she came home; that cautious expression
is gone and although she can still be timid around strangers, she has
come a long way. The day she walked into my house, she immediately
walked over and curled up on a quilt I had placed for her, as if she
belonged. One of the unique things about her is a little quirky bend in
her tail from a past fracture; it keeps her from raising the tail up
straight, but that doesn't stop her from wagging it away, cuddling with
me and giving me plenty of kisses. Her favorite thing is to "go bye-bye";
she bounces around and practically steps into her harness herself when
I tap the floor.
