Taggart, the Dog of the Day
Name: Taggart
Age: Seven years old
Gender: Male Breed: Old English Sheepdog
Home: San Leandro, California, USA

Hello and Greetings! My name is Taggart James and I live with my mom, dad and two sisters, Kiera Jean and Daisy Jane in California.

I was originally a Southern California guy, waiting for my big acting break, when my first family had to move and I was left hanging. Fortunately for me there is a local OES Rescue who was able to let me crash at their pad till I found my new digs. That is when I met my now mom and boy is she great. She lets me hog most of the bed as long as I keep her warm and give her a couple of kisses. I don't leave my dad out of any action either, we spend the very early morning watching the news and drinking coffee and hanging out like a couple of guys.

I had a great beginning with my original family, they loved me very much, but couldn't take me with them when they had to move, something about the economy??? Not sure how that fit's in to it all, but it is what it is. They made sure I was placed with the Old English Rescue of So Cal so I would have the best chance of finding a loving home. It was difficult placing a boy as big as me, because I am over 110 pounds and have lots of hair. Fortunately for me, my new mom loves big old sheepies and the girls, Kiera and Daisy, well, I won them over with my good looks and charm. If you are in the market to add to your four legged family, please check rescue first, there are lots of great dogs and cats looking for loving homes.

Mom here: Please, check out rescue if looking for a new addition, there are so many dogs and cats just waiting for someone to take them home and give them a chance. The last several years of economic down turn has put a lot of fantastic dogs and cats into rescue. Tagg is just one fine example. When he joined my troop, he fit in like he was one of the family, it was seamless. There are advantages to older dogs and cats, many are already house broken, too.

Taggart was about to be four when we adopted him and due to his size, he did not have many people interested in even looking at him. He is the sweetiest boy and loves hanging out with my mom. My mom is in a wheelchair and he often is found with his head in her lap so she can pet him, or taking a nap next to her in the afternoon. He became very attached to her and we feel he is her guardian sheepie.
