This
is Dream and she has a sad but life-changing story. I got Dream when she
was five weeks old from the complex I worked where her owners did not take
care of her or her brothers or sisters. Dream was the cutest thing I had ever
seen and had a smart and strong personality from the beginning. Dream had to
be fed puppy milk and bread because she was too young for food, so my bond
with her formed immediately. As Dream got older she became more entertaining
and smarter as the days went by. She liked to roam and run outside which was
not okay, but she always found a way (like crawling through the dryer vent)
and always came to the office I worked first just to see me and let me know
she was out. Dream was a very attached dog and although she liked other
people no one was as good as me to her.
This nomination for my dog actually begins with me. At the young age of thirteen I
lost my mother, because of this I formed a hard heart and thought I would
never allow myself to get to close to anyone or anything from that point on.
Dream changed this, I never thought I could love an animal as much as I loved
this dog, she was my family. Dream was the most faithful and loving pet a
person could ever have. Unfortunately in March of last year my best friend
was hit by a passing vehicle shortly after we relocated to a country area.
Dream was an explorer and got out of the yard and this had a tragic end. I am
sharing this story in hopes that people will read this and understand what a
blessing it is to own a pet, and how wonderful they can be if treated good
and with love. I love Dream with all of my heart and miss her every day. I
will never be able to replace what this animal did for me and the
faithfulness and love that she provided for me every day. This is for Dream
the best dog I could ever have been lucky enough to have.
