That's
my Bud man!!! Bud man goes everywhere with me since the day I got him.
I'm lucky enough I work in the country so he gets to go to work with me every
day and run and play with my bosses' dogs all day long. In fact even when he
was a puppy, I lived on the 3rd floor of an apartment complex and I never had
to put a leash on him. We would leave the apartment and he would walk down
the stairs to the next landing, and sit there and wait for me. I didn't teach
him this, it was natural. He was the puppy left that no one wanted. the
breeder was so desperate to get rid of him that she just gave him to me,
papers and all.
Six years ago I was in an abusive relationship. The abuse was more verbal
than physical. But there were times it became physical. After all the
fighting was done, there was my Bud, jumping on the bed to cuddle with me. He
let me hold him until I stopped crying. One day the same arguing and fighting
was going on and some how Bud Man knew what was about to happen. Right before
my boyfriend tried to hit me, Bud Man jumped up on the bed, laid directly on
top of my body and just stared at him kind of that look like, "I dare you"
and he didn't! I couldn't believe a "dog" would put his body in harms way to
save me. It still takes my breath away when I think about it!
Now, I even bought a house for Bud Man! When my apartment lease was up I
couldn't see keeping a one-bedroom apartment with my baby horse "Bud Man" -
he needed a yard! Fast forward 6 years, I'm married now with a 2-year-old
son. Bud didn't take the fact that he wasn't "the baby" anymore easily, it
took him a while... but he's coming around. He still comes to work with me
every day, and I always make sure he knows how special he is to me! In my
eyes he is the greatest dog anyone will ever have the pleasure to meet!
