Lenin
loves to run around in the yard, go on long walks, and stretch out
across a bed or couch in his down-time. The only thing he has bad thoughts
about is bath time, and will consequently greet every visitor with
tail-wags and kisses... unless they are wielding a hose. Ever since he was
rescued from the animal shelter at seven months, he has been spoiled by his
parents, grandparents, and anyone who sees him. He is the perfect dog in
every way, and our lives would not be as wonderful without his presence.
When we picked Lenin up from the pound, freshly neutered, he was pretty
subdued most of the ride home. It wasn't until Octopus's Garden came on
the radio, that Lenin's energy returned. So we knew he was a Beatles dog.
Unfortunately, Lenin's Dad has a bit of a mischievous streak, and
purposely misspelled "Lennon" on the dog tag. But since then, we never
wanted to change it, and Lenin seems to like it. He dictates our lives
pretty well, so it fits. He's a very active and personable dog, who is
independently motivated. He can entertain himself for hours in the yard or
around the house, often rolling around and wrestling with the carpet. He
can be a lap dog (when he wants to be), but most of the time, he is
begging to play a game of sorts. His favorite game is tug of war, and he
always wins! He knows a few standard tricks (sit, lay down, fetch), but
we are most proud of his ability to come and go on command. He is a very
obedient dog who stays by our side without a leash, and loves taking rides
to his grandmas' houses. He knows as soon as we arrive, and runs straight
to their front doors! He is everyone's favorite pet!
