Michi
lived at the Akita Rescue Shelter in Ohio until we drove 22 hours on
July 15th to get him (almost one year ago-hard to believe). He never knew
what living in a house was like until that day - we are so glad being able
to change his life and know he is happy being home with his loving family.
Michi has come along way since we first brought him home. We had to do a
lot of training with him. Because Michi never lived in a home before, he
didn't know how to behave in one. He is very personable and loves to chew
on his nyla bones and monkey knots and of course likes to "play" with our
two cats - Maine Coon cats Jackson and Hannah (i.e., the dog and cat
chase). He also thinks the bunnies, squirrels, and chipmunks want to play
with him too, so we have to keep a tight hold onto his leash when he is
outside or you will go for a drag! A funny thing to add... he actually has
a nyla bone that has an orange center along with his other white and tan
bones and when we tell him to get his orange bone, he actually does!
He loves to be outside catching his orange rubber ball and rope toys. He
is very affectionate and loving. He thinks he is a lap dog though and
being 75 pounds we have learned to lay on the floor with him and rub his
belly as opposed to having him on our lap on the couch LOL.
