Our
puppy Molly just received her first hair cut, wash, and set at the
groomer. She is a Tea Cup Yorkie, weighs 5.5 pounds, is ten months old, and
she is a delight to my retired wife and myself. We adopted Molly late
August 2011. She is such a delight to everyone that meets her.
Molly is special because my wife (Mary) and I have been retired for five
years. We lost our white Persian cat, Precious, two years ago and we have
been missing having a pet around the house. We used to have a male yorkie,
Dusty, and lost him about 30 years ago. So we had experience with yorkies
so when our daughter told us about this breeder who had yorkies we wanted
to try and have a pet again. By the way our daughter adopted Molly's
sister Abby. We got Molly when she was eight weeks old. So that is why Molly
is so special to us.
Molly has a very lovely personality. She makes people friends instantly.
One of my wife's friends, Judy, causes Molly to just squeal and gets so
excited when Molly hears her voice. Everyone from children to adults loves
Molly instantly. She has friends at the bank (tellers), our mail carrier
(Lisa), and she has a following on Facebook.
Molly's favorite game to play is fetch. We have to play ball with her at
least twice a day and for sure before bed time. I have two small rubber
balls that light up and I throw one across the house to the front door and
she races after it. She brings it back and drops it at my feet then I
throw the other ball to the left side of the house through our bed room.
This goes on till she is either tired or gets bored then we have to play
tug of war with any one of her two - three dozen toys. She knows most of
her toys by name. Molly sleeps with us and when she needs to go potty she
pats us on the shoulder till we wake up and take her outside... We romp in
the mornings for quite a while before we get up to start the day.
She is very affectionate. She gives my wife hugs. She will lick your hand
till your clean. She loves to cuddle and takes naps with me or my wife.
She has learned to jump from the seat of our love seat to the back of it
and will lay and watch outside when the window is open. She will also sit
and watch outside from our living room front window for the mail carrier
(Lisa). When we are out on the porch and Lisa comes by she will stop and
play with Molly for a minute.
At this time Molly is not independent, as she wants to be near people all
the time when she is awake ... If you could meet her in person you would
love her too.
