Born
on July 4th, 2010, Shadow entered our lives with love and affection. His
legal name is Brownie's Shadow, with him being the shadow of our previous
dog, Brownie. Brownie recently died back in November at the age of eighteen years
old. I grew up with Brownie the whole sixteen years of my life. Loosing Brownie
took a toll on our family, but mostly on Shadow. We had gotten Shadow from my
grandparents who were breeding their two Shepherds. They gave us our little
brown- eyed boy. Shadow grew up in his one and a half years as Brownie's
shadow, doing everything like him, guarding the house, sleeping in the shade,
on the stairs, following him everywhere, sleeping next to him, eating with
him. That last day of Brownie's life, we left the house with him, giving
shadow his last time to see him, to say goodbye to his mentor. When we came
back with out him, my heart broke. I had never seen such a sad look on any
dog's eyes, until that day. Shadow would walk around in the yard searching
for Brownie, whining when he never could find him. That was back in November.
Brownie had his usual spot on the stairs, now that he's gone, Shadow sits
there. I thought I was the only one in the family who loved Brownie the most
... clearly I was wrong.
Shadow is pretty relaxed, he normally just lays around or chews on his
favorite bones and toys. He's a very lovable dog and normally pushes his way
into your arms when you sit down. He knows how to fetch and is very smiley
all the time. His favorite place to rest is by the fence with his nose
sticking out as you can see in his many pictures.
