Maggie
may not be as pretty as most of the Dogs of the Day. She has some
scars and is missing one of her canine teeth. It is hard to say for sure
what breed she is. When she scurries across the floor wiggling her little
rear end she looks like a cross between a Chihuahua and a Guinea Pig. She
is not as sweet and cuddly as a lot of dogs are. She is kind of grumpy
sometimes, especially with some of the younger foster dogs who come for a
stay and tend to annoy her. She's not mean, just feisty in a Grandma
Walton kind of way as she tries to keep the young'uns in line.
She doesn't know any tricks to speak of. What she does have is a whole lot
of charm. She makes friends with about every person she meets. I met
Maggie when she became my foster dog after she was rescued from a pound. I
have strict rules about not getting too attached to the foster dogs and
not adopting them myself. When two adoptions fell through for her, Maggie
made me break both those rules! She is here to stay!
