This
is Echointime Zero To Hero, called Maddex. His name means "Little
Fortunate One," as his start in the world was a bit rough. He was one of the
last puppies in his litter to be born, and he is one of ten. We had gotten the
phone call from the breeder that they were being born, and I had made
arrangements that put me top of the list in terms of dibs for a merle boy. We
drove the three hours out, to arrive just in time for him to be born. Upon
his birth he got jostled and his umbilical cord tore and caused him to start
bleeding profusely, in fact, for a puppy his size the amount of blood he had
lost should've killed him. However, that isn't the case, at all! He fought,
and she handed him off to me to apply pressure gently to his wound as she
went to get a vitamin supplement to give him an energy boost. Not even ten
minutes after I started holding him, he quit bleeding and seemed to come back
with a heap of energy he didn't have before. Luckily, by the time things were
set and done and we were set to leave he was doing just fine!
Since coming home with us, and becoming a fixture in our life he has lessened
the stress of my anxiety which caused me to slip into depression. He
brightens the day of everyone he meets, and he has a seemingly heart of gold
when it comes to people. He has brought my fiance and I closer together, and
is a highlight of our day with his silly antics and want to please.
Maddex had no idea what a ball was until here recently, as he's gotten older
his toy drive has jumped a fair bit which is promising since we have high
hopes for him being actively a part of the disc world. He likes playing with
his "brother" Samson, and playing keep away with any toy ... other than that,
he loves curling up on the couch with me and his dad and watching TV after a
long day of walks and play.
I have never met a dog quite like this one before, and look forward to him
spending the rest of his life within mine.
