everyone! I'm Dash, my official name is Winter White Dash Foens, but
my pals call me Dash, Dasher or Bubby. My parents brought me home the day
after Thanksgiving last year to surprise my brother, Fayde and sister,
Sydnei. I was an early Christmas present. My Mom was hiding me under the
blanket and when they saw me they all started crying. I just wanted to
give them kisses and snuggles.
I had a rough beginning, having an allergic reaction to something within a
few days of being with my new family. I heard them say they think it was a
spider. My Mom is scared of them and says they are just plain evil for
biting me. I swelled up and was miserable for days. My parents took me to
the ER vet for Benadryl shots a couple times. It was not fun. They have
the lawn care guys spray our yard to help keep them away so it won't
happen again.
After that was cleared up we found out that I have Panosteitis, which is a
complicated word for growing pains. My joints swell and get sore.
Sometimes my Dad has to carry me out to go potty. I even have to have
medicine which my Mom puts in yummy cheese slices for me. Dr. Ross DVM
said that I was growing so fast that I need to be on adult food because
the puppy kind was making me sick. It has too much protein and for dog
like me it's not always good. She says by the time I'm one I should be all
better. The strange thing is it moves from leg to leg so this week it
might be my front one and after it goes away a few weeks later it will go
to a back leg. I am lucky to have such a loving family though. They all
take good care of me and give me extra love when I'm sick.
We have a really big yard that I get to run around in. I have fun with the
sprinklers and playing frisbee a lot. My favorite things to do with the
other kids is play in the fort and chase them when they swing.
Right now I have a trainer named Angie who is helping me with things like
heel, wait and off. I get pretty excited and some friends and family get
upset with me when I just want to jump up and love them. She does a great
job and says I am a really smart boy.
