This
is our dog Ladd. My wife had bought him from a private breeder for
the purpose of giving him to her father. We raised him until he was about
six months old, then he went to live with her father. He had had a Sheltie
when he was a boy. It was a big surprise, and he was so happy. Ladd lived
with my father-in-law for many years. The two of them were best friends.
My father-in-law was retired from the Army, so the two of them spent all
the time together. My father-in-law was sick for a long time, and had to
spend time in a Veteran's home and we took Ladd to see him. All the
patients loved it when Ladd would come walking in the front door.
Everybody said "There goes a small lassie."
Ladd lives with us now, it's been almost three years. He has two big
sister dogs, Jaz and Raven. He is the best dog, all he asks for is a rub
on the head every once in awhile, and a rub on the tummy. Here are some
pictures of him enjoying a rare Maryland snowstorm, and then deciding that
was enough! As you can see, he very politely sits at the door when he
decides it's time to come in! What a good boy he is!
