I
was born in Iowa and the people who owned me maybe were worried about how
big I would get because they surrendered me to a shelter when I was about four
months old. I came to the shelter with a bb-pellet lodged in the inside of
my left leg - but no one was able to pass on the story about how that might
have happened to me. I spent the next three months of my life in shelters on
concrete floors (the vet told me that this must be why my elbows have grown
the way they have).
Happily, one day someone from Petfinder.com came and told the people at the
shelter to not euthanize me because they would find me a forever home. I was
transfered to a shelter in Chicago, Illinois and then finally to a foster
home in Wisconsin. About a month after I arrived at my foster home, a family
with an eight-year-old boy came to meet me. The boy was hoping to find his
"canine brother" who would be his best bud.
I was so happy that they took me home the very same night that they met me!
Now I've been a member of their family for a whole year and I've overheard
them saying that they can't imagine life without me. I love going for walks
in the woods with my family and playing chase with my "brother" with tennis
balls and frisbees. I am really good at helping my brother with his
homework. But I mostly just love just snuggling with them - especially since
it's cold in Wisconsin. I am very glad they chose me and know that I'll be
here forever and ever.
