About Us
Cassandra, the Dog of the Day
Name: Cassandra
Age: Five years old
Gender: Female Breed: Shepherd mix
Home: Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada

My name is Cassandra, but my family also calls me Cassie, Cassie Girl, Cassie Boo, Boo Boo, Little Boo, and sometimes even Cowsandra because of the funny cow noises I sometimes make in my sleep. I have lived with forever family for three years now and they have been the best three years of my life! Before they came to rescue me I had lived at shelter for a whole month after I was found roaming the streets and no one came to claim me. I was so sad at the shelter and when I saw my new Dad walk by, I knew he was the one and punched at the fence to make sure he would notice me! It worked and my new parents took me home as soon as they could!

My life now is amazing!!! I have a great yard to play in with my Vizsla brother named Matthew. You can see him wearing his green bandana in one of my pictures. We love to run up and down the fences, checking for intruders, and play tug-o-war, or squeak our toys. Matthew doesn't always listen to our parents as well as I think he should and sometimes I have to let him know that with a good growl and a nip! We go for long walks with our parents everyday. I love all of the trails in Chilliwack because there are tons of things for me to chase! I also get to swim in the river and chase sticks in the lake. I'm a great swimmer and I always beat my brother to the sticks! Sometimes I even get to go mountain biking with my Dad when it's not too hot for me. I also love going camping with my family or on trips to visit my grandparents and my dog agility teacher said I was very well traveled!

I love my new parents so much that I always need to be near them. I go wherever they go and hate to be left behind! When I do have to stay home, I wait by the door for my parents to return and am so excited when they do! I love being pet and getting tummy rubs and when my parents forget to pet me, I remind them by punching at them with my paws! I'm also a great alarm clock and I wake my parents up by standing on the edge of the bed in the morning and licking them, drooling on them, or punching at them. Don't worry, though, I only do these things to my parents because I know they don't mind!

All in all, I think that my life is pretty incredible and that I am one of the luckiest dogs in the world! I am so glad I found my new family and I know they are so glad they found me, too!
