This
is Sugar Cukor (Cuki for short) and she is a Hungarian Vizsla. Cuki
is not only an amazing dog, but a best friend to her owner. She is
sweet, and very willing to please. Cuki came from her country as a
Hungarian import, picked for specialized breeding, looks, intelligence,
and out of nine puppies, was the only female! I call her the pick of the
litter. She is double registered through both AKC and MEOE (Hungarian
Kennel Club). She arrived in the states at 11 weeks old. Since then, Cuki
and I have been to California, Arizona, the Nevada mountains, and Red Rock
national park outside Las Vegas. She also took a trip to the Netherlands
with me for three weeks (the flight over took a bathroom break in Alaska), and
loved every minute of it. She has as many stamps on her passport as her owner.
Not only does she compete in Agility for fun, but she's won Novice JWW
classes as well as placing in Gamblers events. Plan is to have her move up
in higher classes this year. She also knows a wide variety of tricks,
including simple ones from sit, shake, and catch food, to more advanced
tricks such as spin (both left and right), stand on command, bow (verbally
and if someone bows to her), and high step walking. She's gone out hunting
a couple times with a Falconer and his bird, and listens well to what is
asked of her.
She is fantastic with kids, and will allow them to bop her in the head,
and pull on her ears if I don't catch them soon enough! She is trained to
work with children, and has never jumped up on a kid! She is also smart
around horses (after being trampled by one five weeks after getting her), and
often goes over horse jumps while her owner rides over them, and on long
trail rides. She's got the goofiest personality, and I'd do anything for
this girl. I plan to create performances and show them to disabled
children with her, as well as continuing competing.
Here is a short video
to a couple of her tricks from point to point, changing paws,
waving, high walking (she's much better now, and will do it on her own
when asked), and bowing. Enjoy!
