Bobby
came into my life about six years ago, when my family and I adopted
him from an adoption center that was travelling the country to try and get
some of their troubled dogs adopted.
Bobby was originally from Ireland and apparently lived on the streets for
quite some time. He was eventually picked up by an Irish shelter, but
nobody seemed to want this poor little fellow. He was unfortunately given
only a week to live. Luckily for him, this new adoption center was keen on
taking in any dogs who were at risk of being euthanized.
When they finally came near where I used to live, my family and I jumped
on the chance to find a perfect little dog. I fell in love with Bobby the
minute I laid my eyes on him! He was very young then and so bouncy! My
parents talked it over and it was only a matter of hours before we had
reserved him. I must have been one of the happiest kids alive! We picked
up our little boy and he has been one of the family since.
Despite his looks, he is extremely cheeky and very loud! Over the years he
has slowly toned down his barking and his activeness, but you wouldn't
believe how energetic this old dog is! I have never met a dog that could
run around as much as him and still be up for more play! We all love him
dearly and he is just an amazing boy all around. He is so social and loves
to play - especially with children. In fact, it's usually him who wears
out the kids!
He knows how to sit, lay down, beg and give kisses! All you have to say is
"Can I have a kiss, boy?" and he will prance up onto your lap to give you
a quick kiss on the cheek or chin.
He's quite the escape artist, too! Once my parents had to run across three
muddy fields after he'd escaped and ran down and across the countryside
near our house. He enjoys barking at anything from birds, to people, to
even snow! He's the dog with the funniest little face and the biggest
heart a dog could ever have.
