Here's
our puppy, Clancy! What makes her special: Clancy is the first dog we've ever
owned, and we got her at eight weeks old in May of 2012. The only non-shelter
pet in our house (of our three cats, one dog, two hamsters, and a Berber skink),
she comes from a long line of champions in shows. Clancy, however, won't
ever be found in a show as she is only a house-pet. She loves to snuggle,
and has been called 'a living space heater' with how warm she is. We have
three cats, and despite them making it very clear that they don't like
her, Clancy continues to try to get along with them. Clancy has been known
to beg for any food, with the exception of carrots. Her favorite
people-snack is air-popped popcorn with nothing on it - we don't let her have too much, though!
Clancy's best friend is our neighbor's German shepherd mix, Ollie. Despite
the fact that she's short enough to walk under his belly when he's
standing, she seems to think that she's twice his size. Clancy just loves
to take walks (Or runs!) in the snow, and is surprisingly fast on those
short little legs. Incredibly friendly, Clancy just wants to greet
everything and everyone, whether it wants to say hi or not. Any time she
meets someone new, her little tail nub is wagging a mile a minute!
My brother really wanted a dog, so my dad said if we ever get a dog, we're
getting a Corgi. As I had my hands full with three cats, I left it up to my
mom to name her. My mom knew a male dog named Clancy back when she was a
little kid, so she decided to name our girl Clancy.
