We
love our adorable vizsla! She is definitely a velcro dog, which is what
this breed is known for. She's such a total lap dog and a little sweetheart.
Maverick just had her second birthday on March 29! As the breed states,
she is definitely a velcro dog and is always by our side! (My side more
than my husband's but don't tell him that.) She loves to be wherever we
are and loves to plop her rump on us, definitely a lap dog! She can be
whiny and needy sometimes because she loves attention but we don't mind
giving it to her either! She learned tricks at just six weeks old! She's a
very smart dog. She learned sit, shake, down, rollover, and bang (play
dead). She also knows to wait, and leave it. She knows word associations
with her toys, like "where's your ball" and "get your rope," and we taught
her to ring a bell that hangs on the door when she wants to go outside!
This can be annoying sometimes when she wants to bask in the sun every twenty minutes! :)
She gets super excited when we have visitors over that we have to hold her
back a lot or she likes to try to pounce on them, but a simple "off!" and
a crossing of the arms and she knows she's supposed to sit. She means well!
Maverick is our first dog my husband and I have owned together. We always
had dogs growing up and knew we wanted one after we got married. We
struggled with finding a breed we both agreed on and after finding a
youtube video of a vizsla we were hooked on this breed. She's a great dog!
We'd love to have another. And it's great practice for future kiddos, too! ;)
