I
didn't find Booger, he found me. The guy I was dating nine years ago was
out four-wheeler riding and found him. His owners had left him for dead. I
was completely against having an animal because we lived in a tiny
apartment. I couldn't say no to his sweet face. I named him Booger because
he had tiny black dots on his nose. We have moved a total of eight times
together and he has been there through it all with me. He was there when
no one else was. Booger has taught me so much more than any human could.
Love, sacrifice, and patience. My world revolves around him. He is so
special to me and my husband.
Booger is very affectionate. His favorite things to do are go for rides in
our jeep, cuddle under warm blankets, and play with squeaky toys. Booger
is an emotional dog. When he gets in trouble we give him the silent
treatment. He hates to have his picture taken. When I point my phone or
camera at him he starts barking uncontrollably. Most of the good pictures
I have were taken by someone else and he didn't realize what was going on.
His favorite games to play is what we call 'keep away', it's his version
of fetch. We will throw the toy and he will go chase after it but he wants
to you to come and get it. Whenever you try to take it back he takes off running.
My husband and I don't go on vacation very much because Booger doesn't do
well with the separation. Truth be told neither do I! The first time I had
ever gone on vacation I had him boarded. My trip was only four days long. I
called and checked on him every day to make sure he was doing ok. By the
third day they finally told me the truth and said that he hadn't eaten or
used the bathroom since we dropped him off. All he did was cry. I was so
devastated, I packed my bags and came home that day. I could go on and on
about him. Booger just breaks every stereotype people would have against
pitbulls. He is so gentle and loving. He deserves to be recognized for
always giving what I need... unconditional love.
