My
boy's name is Oengus, he is a West Highland/Scottish Terrier mix. When I
was younger I had rescued a puppy from the shelter. He grew up with me and
we were best friends. After about six years of having him, he ran away one
day and we never found him again. About one to two years later, with my father
being in the military, we moved to California. I have a horse and he was
the one thing that meant the most to me after my dog ran away. We were
unable to take him with us which made the move twice as hard. After moving,
I got extremely depressed. I had a very hard time doing daily things and I
could barely even go to school anymore. Six months later we went back home
to visit my sister over Christmas. We stayed for several weeks and the day
before we left for California again, I got a little surprise from my
parents: a five-week-old solid white puppy.
This little guy has done miracles for me. I had to bottle feed him because
his mom ran out of milk too early. He slept in my hands and I carried him
around in my arms all day. He slept in my bed and we played together. Now
he is older and we are getting to the "fun" puppy stages! Because of
Oengus, I am in a much better place now. He and I have created a strong
bond together and I love him so much. He is sweet, cuddly, playful, very
bitey, and super energetic! I wouldn't know what to do with out him! We
have a little patch of clovers outside of our house and he loves to frolic
in them, hence the Scottish name I chose for him! Once Oengus is about a
year old I am hoping we can begin obedience and agility classes together
and maybe compete someday! I love this little guy so much & I am so glad he
is in my life because I wouldn't know what to do without him!
