Hi
there, this is Jessie. She is a Border Collie mixed with a Spitz and is
the best dog in the world.
What makes her special is just everything about her. The way she walks,
barks and plays is a very special thing. What makes her even more special
is her story of how she came to live with me!
Jessie was born somewhere in Kentucky she was there for three years but
then something bad happened. A very bad storm came, it was Hurricane
Katrina, and it was horrible. Jessie was found by a place I think is called
Manifee Animal Shelter. She was walking on the streets, homeless. They took
her in but found out they had no more room in the kennels to keep her
there. So they flew her from Kentucky to Massachusetts to the Pioneer
Valley Dakin animal shelter, where I was looking online for a dog. I saw
her and knew I wanted her, so a few days later I went to see her. She was
in the last cage on the left; she was alone and scared. I told her I was
going to take her home that day and I did! She's been with me for about three
and a half years now, I love her so much. She is called a Dixie Dog which
are dogs that take a plane to other shelters from the middle of the United States.
Jessie has also protected our house from three black bears that have come
onto our yard she is amazing and one of the bears had a cub with it which
made the bears even more dangerous but my dog Jessie didn't care as long as
we were safe. This is what makes Jessie the most special pet and dog ever
and the best friend a kid could have!
