My
dog Phædra's a female Weimaraner dog, with an uncropped tail. We live in
Portugal, near the shore, in the district of Algarve. What makes her special
is that she came to us right at the time we (me and my boyfriend) were
looking for a dog to adopt. I was thinking of adopting a pit bull in a
shelter because it's my favorite breed, but a friend of us was told that
someone had a pregnant dog, an accident with their Weimaraners while the
female was in heat. So, we took the offer, to help them (they had nine
puppies) and also because my boyfriend had lost his Weimaraner a few months
earlier and wanted another. And it's also his favorite breed. So, you can say
she fell from "heaven" when we most needed her.
Phædra loves to sleep with her head on the pillow and hug you while you both
sleep, she loves the beach, the sand, running after flying birds' shadows and
insects, playing with cats, rolling in the dirt and run with horses. She
really likes to play with my friend's pit bull, Winston, they roll all over
the floor or the bed. And she loves smelling and licking my pet rats!
She has had a purple blanket since day one and a purple scarf (it's actually
mine but I just love to see her with it!) too! We can dress her in anything,
as long as it's not on her head. It's kinda funny, me and a friend once
dressed her in some pieces of our University's uniform, namely the necktie
and the cape. Also, she loves bananas and apples, and she knows some tricks
like sit, down, come, stay, paw (both of them with separate orders), speak,
rollover and spin. We're still teaching her beg and growl. Taking photos of
her is easy, she looks directly at the camera most of the times.
She loves hugs (especially in bed as I said before) but also being hugged and
kissed. She could sleep the entire day if we stay in bed with her, as soon as
the word "walk" is said, you'd better get the leash because she'll be pulling
with her mouth, and she absolutely loves cars and traveling inside (and we
sometimes let her run beside the car when we're in the countryside). She has
one problem though, she gets nervous when alone and sometimes barks, but
we're working on that :). We love her very much!
