This
is my dog, Bella. Bella didn't have the easiest start in life. When she
was only a few months old, she and her six brothers were found dirty and
neglected by the Blue Cross rescue center in Namur. We don't know exactly
what happened to them or why they were abandoned. Luckily, Bella found a home
with us. When we went to visit the rescue center, we saw six small puppies
bouncing up and down in their cage, going completely crazy, and instantly
fell in love with Bella, the only female. When we brought her home, she was
very dirty, her ears were caked with grime and wouldn't stand upright, as you
can see in some of the pictures. She was also very scared and she spent the
entire first five days curled up on our sitting room rug, only getting up for meals.
Today, Bella is very extroverted, energetic and excitable. She is what you
would call a "million miles an hour" dog! She likes to run, if you tell her
"Mush!" she will start running really fast and bark loudly. Bella is very
smart and knows quite a few tricks. She also did a bit of agility.
We don't know what breed mix Bella is, lots of people think she is a German
shepherd, but she's wayyy too tiny! A few months ago, we adopted another
rescue dog, Benji the Labrador, so Bella now has a new friend to play with!
Despite being completely crazy, Bella is very gentle. I love her just the way she is!
