My
dog's name is Butterscotch, but we call her Butter for short. She
doesn't even respond to Butterscotch, really, because we've called her
Butter all her life. She just turned ten years old. She's part blue heeler
(Australian Cattle Dog), and part rat terrier.
I've had Butterscotch since she was three months old. Her parents were owned
by my cousins in Indiana. We drove up to Indiana to pick her up when we
moved to Arkansas. She loves to play and run around in our yard. We have
an acre and a half of property to run around in, and there's about two acres
of woods for her to run around in next door to us. She loves getting
kisses. She might just push you over trying to get and give you kisses.
She thinks she's a guard dog, so she tries her best to protect me. She's
all bark, though.
She knows a few tricks: the normal stuff like sit, shake, lay down, speak,
but she also knows "whisper" which is a quiet bark, and hi-5. When I get a
treat and tell her "Pen, Butter," she shoots off to her pen and barks for
me to hurry up with her treat. She loves to run, and we've raced her with
the van, clocking her at 30 mph when she's really stretching out to run.
She also has a pet rock that she loves to push and pull around and she'll
yap at it, but when I act like I'll take her rock, she lays on top of it
and protects it. She loves to be rubbed and petted. She only has 1 person,
and that's me. Butter's a special dog, even if she is goofy most the time.
