This
is Billy. He just recently turned eleven years old and, we believe, is a
Golden Retriever mix. Billy lived in Phoenix, Arizona his first three years and
then moved to Minnesota with his mama. With all his fur, he's much happier in the cold and snow.
Billy has always been a super mellow pup. He's content to lie at my feet
while I'm reading or next to us on the couch when we're watching TV. However,
he does enjoy hiking in the woods, going for rides on the pontoon or chasing
critters in the wood pile. About three years ago, Billy's family adopted a little
sister, Gretchen. She has been a wonderful playmate for Billy and keeps him
young. But, he'd rather she didn't chew on his ears so much.
Anyone who scratches Billy's head or rubs his tummy is instantly his best
friend. And, he loves just about everyone who will give him a treat - except
maybe the vet. He especially loves Sunday mornings when his daddy fixes him a
special pancake breakfast. When we come home from work, he lies on his back
and wiggles around making funny noises. We call it "Silly Billy" since he's
so happy to see us. We rescued Billy from a pound over eleven years ago but he's
the one who rescues our hearts every day since. He is my best friend, my Billy.
