Marcas
is my twenty-month-old sheltie and furry son. He is sweet and is BFFs
with our cat and many of the neighborhood dogs. He is a talented agility dog
who loves jumps and tunnels.
Marcas is a loveable in-your-lap sort of guy. Everyone (human, canine or
feline) is his friend. He knows a lot of tricks, including shake (paws) and
roll over. He loves to perform because it gets him a lot of attention and
treats. He loves to play soccer and, if human, would make a great goalie. He
can stop anything and has no fear. He has had an introduction to herding
sheep and, being a sheepdog, is quite a natural. He nips at my ankles around
the house so my husband nicknamed him "Gator."
I chose to train him in agility because one day when he was a small pup, he
saw a dog jumping through a hoop on TV. He looked at the dog and looked back
at me as if to say, "That looks like fun. I can do that." I got a hoop and
started off with holding it very low to the ground. He eagerly ran through it
and that was the start of his agility career. Even now, he cuddles up with me
on the sofa and watches agility trials on TV!
