This
is Kai. She is a petite Chinese Crested pup. (Yep! She's only got hair
on her head, tip of her tail and tips of her feet.) She is special to me
because my fiancé got her for me when I was feeling down and out. My
fiancé's mom actually bought her from a couple selling her on the street for
$160. They had been feeding her wet kitten food.
The fact of this, having to basically rehabilitate this baby, make her gain
the proper weight and giving her all the TLC she desperately needed, it just
made me adore her so much more. She literally stayed in my arms from six weeks
old to about six months old. She is one of my two that brought me out of my
dreadful slump I thought I was so stuck in.
She is wild, silly, and absolutely a Mama's Girl. She loves to play fight
with our eight-month-old kitten. (She gets the best of him even though she is way
smaller.) She doesn't know any tricks. Cresteds are hard to train because
they are so stubborn, so I haven't really tried more than simple commands
like "no ma'am" when she's being bad. She likes to play "Get the Cow." I have
a cow toy that's as big as she is, and she'll attack it. (Cresteds are small
game animals. They will often attack and kill them if they encounter any.)
She is definitely affectionate. She likes everybody. I honestly think
sometimes she's not all there, but that's ok. :) I still love her!
