My
Lucky is a fighter! We used to compete in dog agility before his accident.
He was in the the back yard with my other dogs one day, when my yellow lab
stepped on him dislocating his lower back disc, and paralyzing him from the
hip down. We ended up rushing him to the ER. They put him on medication that
helped a lot. He stayed the night and the vet said it would take years for
him to walk if at all, but Lucky showed them all up! Over night he stayed
down, but the next day, like a baby horse learning to stand, he stood! He
fell a couple times, but he stood back up, and began taking steps. He fought
so he could be with me again and to day he is almost back to normal! He has
ongoing problems with his hips but he is walking and he still tries his heart
out to do all the tricks he used to do just to show off. This is what makes
him very special to me.
