Meet
James Tiberius "Kirk," just Kirk for short! He's a nut, insanely smart,
loving, and loves mud. He's definitely my best bud we do almost everything together.
Kirk is like any kid. Always into stuff or getting muddy. But he's smart
enough to understand what's his and what he shouldn't mess with. We have even
left our snacks out for days on end (chips or whatever) and he won't touch
them! He's one smart boy.
He know's a ton of tricks and I am always working on more. Currently trying
to teach him left/right by voice command. He loves any sort of tennis/racket
ball. He drops them down stairs or hills and chases them ... Self
entertaining. You can pretty much can always find one in his mouth.
He's very independent; but I trained him to be so as I and my girlfriend work
during the day. In my research before we got him, we found out they are
supposed to be terrors with separation anxiety so I nipped that in the bud
when he was a pup. I have no fear of him running off; in the neighborhood,
friends house, or wherever he can be off lead. He loves running around in the
woods but always stays close.
Kirk is my first Aussie. I have always had a thing for them since I was
younger. The question of a dog came up when my girlfriend moved in a few
years ago and I mentioned an Aussie. She looked into the breed and we ended
up with one. She even wants a second ... but I'm unsure of the extra work
involved with two muddy dogs needing baths, food, brushing, and all the other
fun stuff! We love him!
