In
France, all purebred pets must have a name that begins with a letter that
changes every year. 2013 was the year of the "I" and when I found my little
bear, he was named Iron. It was a really common name, and I already knew
three or four dogs named "Iron." I nicknamed him "Diez" that doesn't mean
anything in French but the hashtag symbol -> #
I was a student, and I've always lived with dogs. In my new little flat, life
was boring. And one day, I saw a paper that mentioned that six aussie puppies
were available to be be adopted right away. I fell in love instantly with a
picture showing a cute red merle, and called the breeder. The next day, I was
holding my little red tri-color boy, thinking that it's stupid to choose a
dog by his appearance; my little favorite didn't care about me, while Diez
came when called, and was searching for cuddles.
He's five months old now, and I could write so many things about him, but my
English skills aren't good enough. He's energetic and incredibly smart. He
can understand a new command with two repetitions when we're outdoors, but
indoors the training seems to be boring for his little head. At least he
knows sit, down, paw, speak... He comes when I want, eats anything like a
chicken ("wow paper! Such taste. Oh, poop! Delicious. Oh my dog, plastic
baaag Yum!!)
My previous dogs were really calm and loves to be petted. Diez isn't this
kind of dog, but the small things he does are most important. He puts his
head on my shoulder when he sits next to me, lays down on me sometimes, when
we're in the bed.
I always told my friends that I wanted an australian shepherd or a border
collie. I wanted a blue merle with blue eyes, that loved learning and
cuddles. But, as it turned out, it was Diez.
For his joy when he see me (mainly when I've food in my hands)
For his little jumps when he runs in the park
For the little moments of tenderness between us
For the bright future, for the agility when he will be older, for the friend I get for more than ten years...
Thank you, little buttbear.
