English
(Engo) became a part of our family this last November. We lost three of
our dogs in the past two years and now with only one dog, a thirteen-year-old
Siberian husky, it was very lonely but I wasn't ready for another dog so we
decided to foster. Engo was very nervous and skinny at first but by the end
of his first day with us he was sleeping on my lap and within two days we
knew he had found his forever home. I didn't think any dog could fill my
heart with the love I had for my dog Barnyard who
passed away less than a year ago but Engo has happily proven me wrong.
English is very well behaved and extremely smart. He is known for being very
"handsy" he uses his paws like a human and has opened doors. He loves his new
sister but respects her space as she is old and not so playful but since he
loves other dogs, he plays with his best friend the neighbor. Jack is a huge
lab mix and when I am out with him and Jacks dad is out as well we let Engo
hop the fence to play with him and when I say to come back he hopes back
over. He also loves the snow just as much as my huskies did. We have become
best friends. He follows me everywhere and is always laying on or next to me.
I've never had a dog that was protective but English is extremely protective
of me and our home. He loves to play with his dad they can play rough but as
soon as he is told "this is love" he calms right back down for rubs and pets.
He sleeps in bed with us not at the foot like most dogs but directly between
us up near our heads and puts his head on any body part of mine he can find.
He wakes me up no later than 9:04 a.m. for breakfast every morning. There are
so many things that make Engo so special but I think the main reason is
despite having been abused and locked in an attic before us, he still trusts
us and loves us as much as we love him.
