We saved Roc from a puppy mill in Bridgeview when he was a little over six months old. He quickly became our 4th child! His daily routine was to try to break through the screen door and have my oldest son chase him with his arms flailing in the air. Five years later we were able to buy a home with a fenced-in yard. Time has begun to slow him down physically but you can see it in his eyes that he would love to run full throttle.
From the day we rescued him to just a few years ago he would to have to burn off energy each day. He could run at full throttle for a good half hour straight. He would act out if he didn't let off that steam. Once we had locked him on our bedroom to go to the other grandparents house on Christmas Eve, we come home to all the carpet , the bedroom door, the window blinds and one of my wife's dresses destroyed.
Over the years he has been a loyal friend to each and every one in our family. He was a comfort to my wife during my cancer treatments and my many hospital stays; he slept at her side every time. He is a gentleman, if a dog could ever be one. At the moment he is in poor health, and may not be with us to celebrate Christmas. We love him very, very much.
