Laila loves to jump at bubbles and still runs around like a puppy even though she is seven years old. She thinks she's a big lapdog and loves to sit in peoples' laps, usually knocking them off the couches or chairs. She comes up and demands lots of lovings. When she's hyper, she usually knocks furniture around or slides her bed across the room with her in it.
She's a big, silly gal, but still protective of the family. When she's in her carseat, she'll growl or bark at me until I buckle her up..
She's my first Boxer. I never thought I'd have one, I was asking my husband which types of dogs he liked and that one came up. The next day I was at the pet store and they had a bulletin board with a paper that said 'free boxer to good home' and I called them right then. I found out later she had originally been abused from either that home or one she was in before since she was fearful of rope toys.
One of the funniest things she does is she barks at the lawnmowers,
whether it's the gas-powered mower or a rotary one. She loves jumping
and playing chase, usually jumping high to avoid obstacles or my
veggie garden. She'll run around the barn, sometimes through my legs,
nearly knocking me over she's in such a rush. If I don't run after her,
she'll skid to a stop in front of me and bark at me until I do. When she
gets her treats, she knows immediately to sit down and usually rolls
over before I even tell her to do it. She used to have a green squeaky
frog that she played fetch with, but it was a 50/50 chance I'd get
actually it back.
Right now she's asleep on the footstool that we had for the couch that
became her bed when the cats kept taking over her other one. The cats
like sleeping right next her. If it's not one, it's one of the others,
they all like to sleep next to or on her. She's very special to all of us!
