Nellie came to us in May, 2015 as a re-home. She joined her three new doggie sisters, and immediately tried to be the boss of everybody (including the humans!) That strategy did not work, and Nellie smartly decided to turn on the charm instead. Six months later, she is a happy, obedient pack member, and has wriggled her way into all of our hearts.
Nellie is our first dachsie, and she is typical of the breed; smart, tough, tenacious and loyal. She has a very cute personality and loves to snuggle. She burrows at night under the covers, and always wants to be touching her snuggle partner. Her dapple markings are quite the conversation piece. So many people have never seen a dachshund like her, and many stop to ask about her. Her westie sisters, Molly (14) and Delilah (9) wait patiently while strangers fawn over Nellie, and they quielty remember when they were "the cute ones." Her chocolate lab sister Sundae (14) just quietly hopes that someone will ask her for a kiss. We love our dogs and are so thrilled that Nellie is a perfect addition!
