Elliot is half Chihuahua and half poodle as well as 100% love bug. He is my little buddy ... well he is actually my grandparents' little buddy now. He has lived with them for most of his life since I can't have pets where I live. So every time I go over to their house he turns into a hyper little lick machine when he sees me. Then he tires out and lies on the couch and waits for me to sit down by him so he can keep licking me.
All in all though, he has become the perfect therapy pet for my grandparents so, him living with them is the best thing in the world for them and me. I still get to see him and he keeps them young at heart. He keeps them safe as best he can at all times. They take him with them any and every where they go, even if it is just a short trip to town. He makes us all laugh by playing catch with himself and his favorite first toy (some funny green and yellow donut looking ring I got him). I have watched him as a very small puppy be so curious that he walked right into a hole my dad had just dug and disappear right in front of my dad.
My dad laughed so hard as he was picking him up out of the hole that he had tears rolling down his face. It was very funny to see a small dog that weighed less than a pound at the time experience his first life lesson; always watch your step. From there he made his way around the rest of my dad's yard and over to my grandparents' where he managed to walk into another much smaller hole which he got out of on his own. He liked to sleep on my mom's pillow or even curl up by her neck. When you meet him you can't help but smile. Elliot is nine now as of March 31st. He has done a lot in those nine years and hopefully he will do a lot more with the rest of his years.
Right now he is being spoiled rotten in the perfect place for him to be as I said before. My grandparents love him so very much and they would be heartbroken if anything ever happened to him which is why I should actually say he is their dog now. He will always be mine in reality but he is not just mine. Elliot belongs to everyone in my family, he is our buddy and our lovey, with lots of laughs and smiles from the simplest of things that he does to all the tears he has licked up in the hard times. He truly is our dog of the day but not just one day, he is our dog of the day every day and that is why we love him so much. I could go on and on but to put all of the awesome thing about him into this summary would take a lifetime to do since he has given us nine years of joy. We love you Elliot.
