Matilda and I bonded the moment I first saw her at the pound. There is something about her personality that comes out in her eyes. She has been by my side since day one. She has protected me during a very abusive relationship. We both got out of there and since then she has been by my side comforting me through our journey. I suffer from anxiety attacks now and also some other health problems. She seems to know when I am about to have one before I do. She will lay across me with her head on my chest until it has passed. When I am ill she pushes against my side to let me know she is there and I'll be ok.
Matilda brings so much joy to my life. I've never known a dog so crazy about tennis balls and she can jump higher than a kangaroo trying to catch one. She has the bravest heart, too, for such a little dog. One night I came home to find her chasing a bear up my driveway. Here in Florida she only chases squirrels but with the same spunk. I would be lost without her. She has given me more love and companionship which I will cherish the rest of my life. I've been very lucky in my life to have several "one and only dogs". Matilda is my everything, she is my best friend!
