Maggie was adopted at six months old. She was thin, small, and excited. Before we re-named her Maggie, she was named Piper for her hyper and energetic personality.
This brindle baby has learned just four tricks, but does them very well. Whenever you hold out your hand (as if to give a high-five) she sits, gives you her paw, lies down, and the spins in a circle. I taught her to understand the "thumbs up" so she knows when she's being good. In addition, she goes by hundreds of nicknames, all of which she responds to (including Honey Bear, Sweetie Pie and Sugar)!
Whenever I'm sick or sad, we cuddle up and she comforts me. Maggie is affectionate and full of a unique charm. She acts like a person and looks out windows on her two feet, and when you're on the ground, she gives lots of licks, which I like to call a "lick attack." She is the fastest dog I have ever seen, too! We think she has some greyhound or whippet in her too, as she has caught a dozen squirrels and even caught a turkey.
Here are some more pictures of her, that my sister and I took (the ones that aren't below).
Also, I wrote a poem about her once, if you want to find out a bit more about her.
