Hera was adopted a week after we had to put down our previous dog - Paula. Actually we didn't want another dog. But the house was so silent and sort of empty without one. So my father started looking at the internet. We saw a dog - not Hera - and the dog looked so silly we wanted to see him/her (I'm not sure anymore). As we came to the place, which was a sanctuary for dogs from the streets of Romania, but the dog wasn't there anymore, it already in a shelter. (The dogs came to the sanctuary to acclimate the them to humans so they wouldn't bite or some sort like that.)
Hera was not the only dog there, she was with six or seven other dogs. But she was the one we noticed immediately. Her behavior was EXACTLY like our previous dog. It felt like Hera was some sort of 'reincarnation' of Paula. She followed us the whole time we were at the sanctuary and so we decided to take her home with us.
Since the 20th February she's been with us for four years and she is such a sweetheart. She talks to us, sometimes we have really deep conversations, and she is joyful, playful and brighten every day. Even if she is sometimes a little diva especially if it comes to our daily walks. We walk her four to five times a day, but if she doesn't want to go the way we go, she will not come with us. She'll go back and wait in front of the front door until we come home from our walk and then 'escort' us back in the house. We love her!
