Dana is a female dog that I rescued when she was a year old. Her former owner was trying to educate her using fists, feet and shovel. I struggled but managed to help her become a happy and sociable dog.
Dana is a very curious dog. For her, things fall into two categories: food, and if it is not food, so it's a toy. She can not do without me for ten minutes. When she is in the garden and I'm inside, she comes back to me often to see if I'm still here. She spends a lot of time giving me hugs and kisses.
Dana is attentive to everything that happens. She barks to warn us if there is something going on, like people talking loudly in the street, or when someone passes too close to our home. She recognizes the cars of my friends and barks to tell me that friends arrive. She loves people and and tries to be as much of the party she can, but I never leave her alone with children, because of her bad beginnings. I often talk to her.
Her favorite game is running like crazy in the garden. She loves to chase me, and once she catches me, it's me who runs after her. She also likes to catch a ball that I throw. She also has many chew toys, including two large Kong toys. As I live by the sea, I often take her to the beach. She runs down the beach like crazy, and loves swimming in the sea. When we go for walks in the parks, I hide and seeks me, and when she finds me, she makes me celebrate! She also knows how to be quiet. She has two baskets for beds, or she lies next the place where I am. It also has a corner with a blanket in which she rolls. What upsets me is that she likes to hunt animals, I never managed to cure her of this bad habit.
She knows basic commands like: sit, no, and stay. I always speak softly even when I scold. She is not a circus dog, the important thing is that she is happy. And I love her very much.
