This is Coco, she is a Border Collie. Coco is the sweetest loving dog, but very high energy. She is our fifth and probably final dog, due to our age (64). We got Coco last November for our Sheltie, Robbie who was 10, we also had a 16 1/2 year old mixed cattle dog. We got Coco becausewe knew Zoe would die soon and Robbie would need a yard companion. Sad to say life paid a cruel unexpected turn. Robbie died suddenly from heart failure in February, then Zoe had a stroke in September, and had to be put to sleep.
Coco has kept as active and kissed and licked many tears. We have a large fenced yard and she just has to run! Even on rainy, muddy days, we have to let her get her energy out. We love her , but she is different from our other dogs, because she wants to spend the whole day out side from day light till dark. This has forced my husband, son and I to speed more time outdoors playing with her. Coco is a champion in Frisbee, and loves catching her football. I taught her to jump through a hula-hoop. She loves all of her toys indoor and out, and she will keep them piled together.
The only bad thing Coco does is digging holes in the yard! I believe it is from boredom or it is just fun! We fill the holes in and she knows it is bad, 'cause if we see her through the window, she will stop and lay down to look innocent. We continue to work on this issue, but she is here to stay even if it means filling in holes for 12 to 15 years. She is our Dog of the Day every day.
