Ever since my family and I adopted Willem in 2007, he's been a little firecracker of energy and a bundle of sweetness. Every time somebody comes downstairs, he's always the first one to bark at a million miles per hour until he recognizes who the person is. Sometimes in the middle of the night, he'll run outside and bark at nothing in particular, though my mom always jokes that he's "protecting us from slugs crawling across the ground."
Whenever he's not barking his famous Schipperke battle cry, he's usually begging for pettings, love, and human food. If you give him vigorous back and butt rubs, he'll be your friend forever. If you feed him lunch meat, he'll be your friend for even longer. If you feed him a plain double cheeseburger from McDonald's, well, you get the drill by now. At ten years of age, Willem is still going strong and still a child at heart. Our family loves him to pieces!
