Ollie was first found in the basement of a puppy mill, ignored and abandoned. He was taken to a kill-shelter in North Carolina, where he was rescued by Sean Casey of Brooklyn, NY. I wanted to get a dog, and after looking at many possible pets, none really touched me, I asked if there were any others. They mentioned that were two year-old rescues that weren’t ready for adoption. I asked to see them. The first was cute but, again, not for me. Finally they brought up Ollie and it was love at first sight. He was under-nourished but we took him home.
Ollie is just a bundle of boundless love. We had to hire a trainer to teach him to climb the steps of our home and he took Obedience classes, level one and two and he is the perfect pup. Playful and obedient. And unlike any Beagle we have previously met, he neither barks nor bays. He is absolutely silent, save for some human- like groans when he looks to cuddle up closer in bed at night. He just wants to be everyone’s best friend. And he certainly is.
