Introducing Karma the Shopper. Karma is a two-year-old Tibetan Terrier who keeps busy shopping around the house all day. Karma can open drawers and cabinets with his snowshoe feet. He is tall enough to stretch himself to the first four inches on counters and will 'Buy' anything that he thinks is interesting and run like mad with it. He then stands with one foot on the prize and his tongue hanging out to invite us to play with the treasure. The treasure of course may turn out to be our glasses, mouth guards, toothbrushes, and underwear. One day he even decorated the back yard with one of my bras. This dog is a born clown.
Karma, whose full name is Trisong's Abundant Good Karma, has never barked at another dog or person. He is everybody's friend. Twice every day he visits his neighborhood pals on his walks with his Dad. While no one usually remembers our name, everybody knows Karma's. People say to me, "oh you're Karma's Mom aren't you". Our spoiled little guy also has regular play dates with his Tibetan Terrier best bud Oliver. The two cavort and chase like little kids for hours. We dog parents stand around, chat, and snap pictures of them like paparazzi.
Our doggie prances like a show dog and sits politely when people stop to talk. He also sits to watch a dog walking on the other side of a street. The only times we have seen him bark at someone were the two times he watched Michael Jackson moonwalk on TV. We are shocked that this happened on two different occasions, and only when he moonwalked. Apparently Tibetans Terriers object to moonwalking!!! Or, just Karma.
Karma spends his early morning draped around Mom's shoulders on the back of the couch while she reads her newspaper. But evenings are spent playing with his embarrassingly enormous basket of toys with Dad. He will give squeaking concerts on his toy monkeys for over two minutes without stopping. Perhaps we should stop praising him so much for these extended arias. We have loved many dogs in our long lives but never had a dog that sparkled like our Karma.
Plus when we call him, our 'Good Karma' always returns to us.
