Kaiser was my third rescue dog whom I got at eight years old. He was a great dog from the day we brought him home. He just fit right in with our family. I always wanted a Cavalier and found out about Cavalier Rescue and waited about a year to find a good match for our family. He had one dog sister Picabo, a Maltese rescue. His favorite thing to do was go for as many walks as you were willing to take him on in a day. Even the week before he died he still insisted on walking and I carried him home the last part of our walk. He also had to be carried up and down the stairs to go out which he cherished. Kaiser stood ready to be picked up at the top of the stairs or by the couch to cuddle with me.
Kaiser lived to eat. He would run around in circles in the kitchen every morning after I let him in until he got breakfast. We when brought him home we tried to let him sleep in our bedroom but he snored so loud even with cotton in my ears I could not sleep. My daughter then tried in her room for a week but she also got no sleep. Therefore he was gated in laundry room every night. When we let him out for the last time in the evening he would stay out for a long time. Kaiser knew he was going in the laundry room to sleep and didn't want to sleep there even with a bed and cozy warm blankets. He would sit by my feet where ever I was sitting when home. He loved to kiss everyone on the face especially after petting him.
Sadly he passed away at the age of fourteen in August. I miss Kaiser and will be getting another Cavalier rescue soon.
