This is Sam. We rescued him from an animal shelter many years ago. At first my family and I could not agree on a name. After two weeks of deliberation we decided on Sam. Although he is a getting older he still acts like he is six months old. He loves to run and play fetch, especially when we have to play tug of war to get the toy back. That's his favorite game, tug of war. He will pull on a rope for hours. He loves stuffed animals. If he gets one it is completely destroyed within five minutes.
Sam weighs about 95 pounds (43 kg) and thinks he's the size of a Yorkie. We call him our 95-pound lap dog, because he loves to jump up in your lap and sit, or lay. He loves people. He will jump and lick and play with just about anybody. He does lots of tricks: sit, lay, shake (with each paw), speak, he even whines when I say "Say please." If we put a piece of food on the corner of the table or counter and say stay, he will until we say "get it!" He also know how to give high-fives, that one is always what gets him the best treats. He also can jump and catch treats in the air.
When he's in a calmer mood he just like to snuggle with us in the bed or on the couch. Sometimes, well, most of the time he like to push you off the bed or couch until he has enough room for himself to be comfortable. He loves loves loves sleeping all spread out on the couch or bed. He is like a cat sometimes, he has to walk around in about 10 circles to find the most comfortable position for him to curl up in a ball in. That is the way he sleeps on the couch. He always sleeps curled up in a ball when no one is near him, but if he's near someone else sitting or laying next to him he feels obligated to take up their space as much as possible.
Sam is overall a great dog who loves to run and play then crash on the couch. We almost named him Crash for that reason. Our whole family adores him.
