Romeo is a purebred longhaired Chihuahua whom we adopted through rescue, ten years ago. Actually I was only going to foster him, since we had three adopted Chihuahuas already, but the fostering only lasted two days and we knew he had to be ours forever. He has the most adorable, laid back personality and he does his little "circle" dance when he's happy and excited, spinning around, which is often.
Romy, as we call him, is the son of a champion showdog but was given to rescue because his breeder couldn't keep all of the males who were too dominating with each other. She wanted him to have a good home where he could continue having a happy, fulfilling life. We absolutely adore him and he has fit in perfectly with his three chi sisters. He is especially close to Rosy, below, one of our former puppymill dogs that we adopted, too. In that picture they are dressed for the rescue reunion picnic a few summers ago.
Romy's favorite activity is hiding his white Nylabones from Rosy, who generally finds them and carries them off. This is because he tends to "hide" them out in the open somewhere, but we don't want to spoil his fun by telling him why she always finds them. Sometimes, when he catches her doing this, he will take off after her, chattering the whole time. He doesn't growl, he just chatters.
For putting up with three sisters and tolerating all of their little antics, we feel Romeo deserves to be honored. He is our special little boy.
