Arty was rescued from Second Chance Dog Rescue in San Diego, America's Finest City. I fostered this love nugget for about eight months before deciding to adopt him. Funny thing, my friend Beth fostered him first. She asked if I would watch him so she could attend a wedding one weekend. That first night I was already thinking, Hmmm, I wonder how long she will let me keep him? We worked with the rescue to transfer him to me and I would foster him. I have a soft spot for blonde chihuahuas. For months I was taking him to adoption events on the weekends, but he didn't 'show well' because he was barky and a little uneasy around strangers. He also does not do that well with men.
Arty's previous owner neglected him and this poor dog was not even comfortable with human touch when I first got him, but I saw something special in him and was attached very quickly. I wanted to show him love and safety and for him to experience unconditional love. I think I have achieved just that. He now is the most affectionate dog I have in my pack of five chihuahuas. He always has to snuggle me at night and be right next to me. He is my running partner and can easily run five miles!
I love his ears, his character, his personality and so much more. I am beyond thankful to have this boy in my pack!!
