Chewy had a disc rupture in March 2012, leaving him completely paralysed from the mid back down. We opted for IVDD surgery which would only give him a 50% chance of walking again, despite the cost, we had to give him that chance. He was completely dead weight from the mid back down for a month or so, and then started getting feeling in his back legs. By that summer he was starting to get movement in his legs, he can apply pressure and could stand for about 25 seconds before falling down. He's in a wheelchair for walks and is really happy :).
He's a very positive little guy, so happy all the time and super affectionate when it is convenient for him lol. He is one of the happiest dogs I've ever seen, and loves chasing his Frisbee when he can His activity is a little limited right now but he acts as if he doesn't notice he's injured. It's very cute and inspirational When he's not trying to run around he loves to cuddle and just laze around. Chewy high fives in his home made dog wheelchair! He hasn't been able to walk again, but he doesn't seem to care one bit! He is just the best boy, and makes us smile every single day.
